Our school is committed to nurturing the students' faith, education, and physical well-being. With the AP Prep Program, our school offers students a variety of learning experiences that serve to improve their critical thinking and collaboration skills, which includes a blended learning environment.
St. Katharine Drexel C.H.S. is a safe learning environment that welcomes all students. In addition to offering academic excellence, students can participate in activities which will enhance their learning experiences. There are a variety of clubs, councils, and athletics for our students to join.
Our goal is to offer eligible students an enhanced learning experience that not only focuses on academics, but also builds character.

In Grades 9 and 10, students prepare for the senior-level AP exams by taking courses at the AP Prep Level. These courses offer a number of curriculum enhancements above and beyond the grade 9 destreamed level and the grade 10 Academic level. In Grades 11 and 12, students have the option of taking specific AP Courses. Upon successful completion of the Grade 12 AP Courses, students will have the option to write the corresponding AP Exams.

AP Prep is a clearly articulated sequence of courses that enrich students and prepare them for the rigor of AP Courses. AP Prep teachers help students acquire the skills, concepts, and habits of mind necessary for success in grade 11 and 12 AP courses and AP Exams. Emphasis is on inquiry-based learning, problem-solving techniques, and other learning strategies that students need for success in AP and beyond.

The Advanced Placement (AP) Program is an internationally recognized enrichment program which offers college/university level curricula to high school students. Students have the opportunity to take part in examinations that may grant them advanced standing in courses at various universities. This program is suited for highly motivated learners with strong learning skills.

At the secondary level, the AP courses (grade 12) and the Preparation for Advanced Placement (AP-Prep) courses (grades 9–11) are the PACE program’s curriculum extensions in the areas of Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and English.

In 2023, more than 2.5 million students worldwide participated in AP exams. AP exams are scored on a scale of 1 to 5, with many post-secondary schools granting credit or advanced placement for scores of 3 or higher, though this varies by institution.
