Grade 9 EQAO testing occurs near the end of each semester. Preparation for the test occurs throughout the course and a stronger focus in the week prior. Results from this test will account for 5-10% of every student's final mathematics mark. This will be determined at the beginning of the course and be communicated to both students and parents through the course outline.
St. Brother Andre takes great pride in the high level of academic excellence our students achieve. There are EQAO resources that can be found online at www.eqao.com. (Click on student resources). The following resources are also available to support the administration of the field test and are posted on the EQAO Educator website:
Grade 9 Math Framework: This resource outlines how the assessment is mapped to the Ontario mathematics curriculum and includes a sample student report.
Grade 9 Math Sample Test: This interactive section of their website lets you experience the two stages of the digital assessment and is available for you and students to become familiar with the platform. This is equivalent to one of the two sessions students will complete during the administration of the assessment.
This years EQAO assessment includes students who are currently completing a Grade 9 mathematics course. This assessment, administered by the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO), measures each student’s achievement against the expectations of The Ontario Curriculum.
Please note that the EQAO assessment will be worth 5% of your child’s final mark for the 2023-2024 school year.
