Teachers: Mr. Jannetta & Ms. Comella
Instrumental, Vocal, and Guitar courses at St. Brother André provide students with an opportunity to come together and celebrate the power of music. These courses not only teach students technical skills, but also foster collaboration, creativity, and a deep appreciation for musical expression. Through band and choir, students actively engage in performances throughout the school year, including concerts that are an integral part of the SBA community, as well as feeder school tours in December. These performances allow students to share their talents with others and contribute to the vibrant cultural life of the school.
In class, students focus on developing their own unique sound, with an emphasis on both individual and collective growth. Whether performing live, recording for screen projects, or creating self-recorded and produced tracks, students gain valuable experience in presenting their work with confidence and pride. These experiences not only build technical skills in their chosen instruments or voice but also encourage self-discipline, creativity, and the ability to work as part of a team. At SBA, the music program is not just about learning to play an instrument or sing—it’s about growing as an artist, building strong connections with others, and discovering the joy and fulfillment that music brings. Whether performing for an audience or recording their work, students in the music program develop skills and experiences that will benefit them for years to come, both academically and personally.
