About the program

The demand for jobs in this sector is increasing.  The SHSM–Transportation provides students with an opportunity to specialize in this area by earning industry related certifications, experiences and focusing their knowledge in this sector.  This SHSM is for any student entering an apprenticeship program, college, university or entry-level position post secondary.

Some of the career pathways include but are not limited to are:  Automotive Service Technicians, Electrical Engineer, Construction Millwrights and Industrial Mechanics, Small Engine and Small Equipment Repairer, Air Pilots, Flight Engineers, Industrial Designers, Machine Operators and Inspectors, Mechanical Engineering Technologist, Aerospace Engineers, Urban and Land use Planners, Railway yard and Track Maintenance Workers, Aircraft Assemblers and Aircraft Assembly Inspectors etc.

Program Requirements

The following credits are completed in Grade 11 & 12:

4 Major Credits 

     1 English Credit

     1 Math Credit

     1 Science/Business credit

     2 Co-operative education credits
