The art piece shows the positive and negative aspects of the pandemic. It starts off with the negative, and then switches to how people are trying to make the best of the pandemic. I watched through past news broadcasts and videos of Covid, and then gathered clips that I thought best represented the negative side of the pandemic. I did the same for the positive side. I decided to show the negative side first, because most people will only think of the negative things, before thinking of the positive outcomes. This art piece was made/edited by Carys.
This artwork is a symbolic animation about the negative things that happened during the pandemic. It consists of an illustrated animation by Kiamehr, audio effects by Daniel, and a poem by Euan.
The symbolism in our art is that the plate represents the earth and its falling and breaking is supposed to represent how much Covid has affected everyone on earth in a negative way. It is like the earth is broken and in pieces.
The positive symbolism in our piece is the broken earth/plate put together with bandages and tape but still cracked. When plates break, even when you tape and glue them back together, you can still see the cracks and broken parts.
"The Negative & Positive Aspects Of Covid" is the title of this video art piece. At first, it shows some digital artwork that presents the negative topics of Covid, such as the global economy going down, people getting sick, etc. Then, the video shows the good digital artworks that represent the good things about Covid. This piece fits into the overall group exhibit because it represents both the positive and negative of Covid. It helps bring another perspective about Covid on how it did have some positive effects.
When thinking of Covid, I wanted to portray something positive and I thought about healing. I thought the best way to portray healing was a flower because when a flower starts to wilt you can still save it. With Covid, times have been hard but we've been plowing through, and I wanted to show that in this piece, that we started in a very bad place and and it has got a lot better.
The title of the piece is “ Life will change.” I used Procreate to edit, animate, and create the piece. The house represents the earth; with everyone stuck in their house because of the pandemic. In the beginning, the mask swings down, but one side is pinned down by a pin with clock hands on it. As the mask falls down, the clock turns with it. The clock represents time, that time is still moving and eventually things will change. The person walks out of the earth house.
This work fits into the overall group exhibit because it spreads a hopeful message towards the pandemic. Originally, it was just a typography piece, but I turned it into a short animation afterwards because it felt a bit plain.
For the CPT, a total of three artists worked on it. Adriano G.: Commentator, Eliyana F.: Editor, Thelma A.: Animator. All of the animations were hand-drawn, we used band lab to edit the audio, and Eliyana put everything together. I got inspiration from a YouTuber that I watch, he made funny animation videos and I wanted to see if I could try and experiment with that. The main idea of the art piece was to show what people enjoyed and disliked about the pandemic, and make humorous comments. Since the CPT is all about Covid, I thought showing what people liked and disliked about covid was appropriate. It was a fun experience doing the animation, I hope to do more work like this.
Title: Them and Covid
I used the iPad that was given to me at the beginning of the year. I used digital art as the medium and used nothing else. The basic idea for this artwork was to represent how care workers and police officers have protected us from covid and the rising cases. I think that the artwork works with the overall group exhibit by being like a middle zone for ideas. With all the ideas being the same I thought a simple art piece would be best.
This visual art piece was made by me (Enrico L.). I drew it using ibisPaintX. In terms of the basic idea of this piece, it's that even though COVID-19 separates people from each other and makes life a bit inconvenient, people around the world are working together to stop the spread and to cure it. This piece shows the positive and negative aspects of COVID-19, so it fits in well with the other pieces.
A digital art piece to showcase the positive is more colourful than the negative. With words in white and pale grey to describe several emotions we all felt during the pandemic and especially lockdown. These words are in the background, while the main focus is the words in rainbow, ‘We Stand Together’. To show that the bigger and coloured words are the main part, and that colour and positive thoughts outweigh the negative things we went through, hence all the negative words being in the background. The banner was initially going to be a paper banner and hung along with the other art pieces in the exhibit. However it is now in digital format and so it will instead go on the website or along with the other digital art pieces instead.
