I like to think that I achieved my goal of learning what photography was about, I did not learn everything and I think I am just scratching the surface but I learned so much about how to take photographs and how to edit them and Photoshop. I enjoyed all of the units and you can see how they all tie together, you can use certain strategies together to make a good photo, like leading lines and framing has a lot of potential to be good. When I said that I wanted to be proud of the photos I take I believe that I can do that now, I can see the lighting and lines more clearly now and I enjoy that. On top of all this, maybe my favorite part, I finally learned how to use a real camera not just my phone; my mom has this camera that she does not really know how to use and now I am finally able to use it and use it well.
This was a photo I took during the framing unit, and I like it because if you look at the ground, there is a subtle snowmobile track that, in a way, acts as a leading line, directing your eyes to the moon shining brightly in the sky. I was proud of this photo, and that's what I wanted to achieve at the beginning of the photograph; so I believe I succeeded overall in this class, regardless of my grades.
In the future I would love to continue photography outside of school and maybe even in school in photography 2. My visual arts interest and skills I hope can take me a ways in photography, but my photography is not used to impress others, I love photography because I look at it like such a self graded thing and I love being happy with my photos. The skills I have learned during this class is going to help me a lot in the future being able to see and produce the photos using strategies and skills learned in this class. My new goals might be to take more photos on my camera and find out how to work it on my own by problem solving.
I enjoy taking photographs because they keep memories in them. For example, if I took a photo of a sunset that I saw while my family and I were on a walk, whenever I see that photo I can look back and remember how much fun I had with my family. I hope to improve on photography as a whole; mainly because when I take a photo, I want to be proud of it, no matter what. Hopefully, I can learn enough in this class to fulfill that hope. On top of this, I would like to learn about photography because I've heard it's more than just taking a picture on your phone, and I would like to find out what all of that is about.
