WxL: 9-8 the stuff it is made out of : it is made of reed
Project Purpose: To understand how a line can be used to create a three-dimensional form
To create a sculpture that considers balance and repetition, variety and emphasis
To learn about sculpture artists and where they find their inspiration
Artists studied: Ruth Asawa, Mia Pearlman
Reflection:
How I created my piece. First, the reed was wet so it would be able to move easily. Next, I moved the reed and made circles and reeded it throw and hid the ends. Then I clipped it together so it dried and did not break apart and fall into a different shape. Then once it dried I took the paper clips off and held the parts together and then glued them in between the parts so they would stay together. Last I measured and put a piece of paper between one of the holes and glued it there. I glued blue rice paper to one of the places in the sculpture to show emphasis. I see different shapes and circles that are different sizes. I learned that sculptures can be made out of lots of things.
