Aoife
My goal is to get better at drawing still-life objects. I'd like to be able to draw things with confusing perspectives, and I want to be able to easily sketch things accurately. I think this class will be difficult but also fun because I enjoy drawing. I am excited to do our painting units because I need to improve my painting skills.
Reflecting on my goals for the semester:
I achieved my goals for this semester. We started with a still life practice drawing, and mine came out looking very accurate to real life. We had to do perspective drawings by using tutorials and in my opinion mine came out almost perfect. I can't easily sketch things accurately because no matter what I do I'll want to keep fixing little things till it's perfect, and that takes forever. The projects we did in class improved my painting skills a lot. Before I took this class I had no idea how to use watercolors, and now I have a beautiful watercolor painting of an image my brother took. I have my unsung hero painting which I was extremely worried wouldn't come out good because I haven't used acrylic paint since 7th grade, but It looks almost exactly how I wanted it. Overall, I reached the two main goals I had to improve my drawing and painting.
