Intro to Government

Course Overview

One of the core principles of our education system is to inform citizens about civic values and democratic systems of governance. This course examines the basic structure of the United States government at the federal, state, and local levels. We also will look at other systems of government, including parliamentary systems prevalent in many other countries. The course explores in greater depth issues introduced in previous history classes and resembles an introductory college course in government. Given that we are living in such an interesting time in American politics and government we will follow, in addition to the curriculum units, current issues throughout the course.
