A work placement provides students with the chance to step outside the classroom and gain first-hand experience of a particular job role or career sector.
This practical exposure can be extremely valuable when Year 10 students are considering their options for life after Year 11: beginning a sixth form or college course, undertaking an apprenticeship or beginning work with part-time study.
Year 10 students have the opportunity to undertake a short work placement in June 2026. We hope that all students will make the most of this experience by finding, securing, and completing either a five-day placement with a single employer or a combination of one- or two-day placements with multiple employers.
The placement week will run from Monday 8 June to Friday 12 June 2026.

Student Guide to using the Unifrog Placement Tool
Once an employer has said 'Yes' to taking a student, the student needs to post placement information onto the Unifrog platform.
Unifrog's online Placement Tool creates a link between four partners - the student, employer, parent/carer and school - in order to record, monitor and evaluate work placements. Everything is online and in one place to simplify the communication process.
This link summarises the Placement Tool process: https://www.unifrog.org/help/unifrogs-placements-tool-faqs.
The Student Guide to using the Unifrog Placement Tool offers step-by step guidance. Click here to read the guide.
