A work placement provides students with the chance to step outside the classroom and gain first-hand experience of a particular job role or career sector.
This practical exposure can be extremely valuable when Upper Sixth students are considering their options for life after school: undertaking an apprenticeship, studying at university or gaining employment.
Upper Sixth students have the opportunity to undertake a short work placement in Autumn 2026. We hope that all students will make the most of this experience by finding, securing, and completing either a four-day placement with a single employer or a combination of one- or two-day placements with multiple employers.
The placement week will run from Tuesday 8 September to Friday 11 September 2026, with Monday 7 September being a day in school with various activities planned, including a work experience breifing session.
Students enrolled in ASQ Health and Social Care or T Level courses do not need to arrange an additional placement, as substantial work experience is already built into these programmes. All other ASQ, A Level and SQ students are required to secure a placement for this period.

Student Guide to using the Unifrog Placement Tool
Once an employer has said 'Yes' to taking a student, the student needs to post placement information onto the Unifrog platform.
Unifrog's online Placement Tool creates a link between four partners - the student, employer, parent/carer and school - in order to record, monitor and evaluate work placements. Everything is online and in one place to simplify the communication process.
This link summarises the Placement Tool process: https://www.unifrog.org/help/unifrogs-placements-tool-faqs.
