Yu He joined Yale as an assistant professor in Department of Applied Physics, fall of 2020. Yu obtained his B.S. in Physics from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Stanford University. Prior to arriving at Yale, he worked as a Miller Research Fellow at the University of California at Berkeley.  He has received the NSF CAREER award (2023) and the AFOSR Young Investigator Award (2023).

Jinming Yang

Physics, 3rd year

Jinming is a graduate student in the Physics Department. He received his bachelor's degree in applied physics from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2020 and joined the group in the spring of 2021. His research area mostly involves utilizing the angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy to study the unconventional superconductors.

Tyler Werner

Tyler is a Graduate Student in Applied Physics. He obtained his B.S. in Molecular Engineering and Physics from University of Chicago. He works on the materials science of low dimensional magnetic materials for spintronic applications.

Zhibo Kang

Zhibo obtained his B.S. in Physics from Peking University. He's currently working on the spectroscopy study of the metal-to-insulator transition in quasi-1D material, Ta2NiSe5; and  the quantum simulation of square lattices using supramolecular self-assembly. He's also working on molecular beam epitaxy technique.

Wenxin Li

Wenxin obtained his bachelor's degree from the University of Science and Techonoly of China (USTC) in 2022. He is currently working on the band structure effect of ion-intercalation on transition-metal dichalcogenides, and the integration of magnetic field and photonics into the ARPES sample environment.

Maria Bambrick-Santoyo

Senior

Maria works on the synthesis and characterization of rare-earth element modified high temperature superconducting copper oxide.

Peter van Vlaanderen

Junior

Peter joined the group in order to investigate the superconducting mechanism and relationship between magnetism and superconductivity in cuprates. Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy is his principal experimental technique. 

Ian Wang

Junior

Ian Wang joined the group to work on general-purpose sub-resolution superconducting gap extraction algorithms.

David Subires

David is a fourth-year Ph.D. student visiting from the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC) in Spain. He is researching CDW transition phases in Kagome systems and TMDs, employing ARPES and X-ray scattering experiments.
