Term 3 - Pangarau (Maths) with Ms Lange - WELCOME!
Term 4, 2021
This term we are going to deepen our understanding of our number system and how it works, look at basic facts and their tricks (and learn some more of them!) and revise what we have learnt so far.
Our Strand this term is Geometry and Measurement, we will work on this on Fridays.
Below are some useful work books for understanding and practising any basic facts sets that are tricky for you. YOU are an Enthusiastic Learner - you've got this!
Term 4, Weeks 3-5
We are revisiting Multiplication. Yippee!!!
Some revision - looking at its patterns and then two strategies for solving multiplication problems.
Multiplication Foundations workbook
Something we are thinking about: Can you actually divide by 0???
T4 Weeks 1-2

Term 3, Week 8
It's Catch Up and Finish Off Week.
This means you are to go through all the work you have started in the last 4 weeks and make sure you have finished it to the best of your ability. Read any notes given by your teacher and try to act on them. There will be workshops happening to learn from.
Ms Lange will be working with groups and individuals. If you are not sure where to start, Ask!
Week 7
Where would you go, if you could go?
This week we are doing more measurement practice. Looking at time, distance and a little bit of dreaming.
The workbooks are very similar, but some of the work is a little more challenging in BBs (Brilliant Bramagupta's). Whichever you choose, do what you can, try your best!
Remember to highlight TH AR TE to show how you found the work.
TH means Too Hard!
AR means About Right :)
TE means Too Easy!
Week 6
Fly like a bird? Flights of Fancy? Fly me to the moon?
You guessed it! This week's maths challenges all have something to do with flight
or things that fly.

ALGEBRA
The word alone can strike fear into the hearts of some -
but you are a YMS HERO, so you are an Enthusiastic Learner
AND an Open Minded Explorer so you will have no trouble!
It is just more numbers and patterns we have just given it a fancy name (which is Arabic for balance).
Fearless Fibonacci
The Stop sign symbol in your workbooks means, STOP! Take a break, discuss what you have learnt/practised with someone. Also, it will give me a chance to look at it before you go on.

This week we are putting the basic facts you have been learning to use - Solving Word Problems.
To choose the correct workbook, remember which basic fact set you have been learning, which stage are they? Check with your teacher if unsure or look at the chart on the window.
