Sinus Tachycardia most often results from increased sympathetic stimulation (i.e. due to pain, fever, increased oxygen demand, and/or hypovolemia). It usually has a narrow QRS. The rate is often limited to below 150 / minute
Recommendations include managing stress to prevent arrhythmias and controlling blood pressure and cholesterol through regular exercise and a healthy diet.
Treatments for sinus tachycardia include medications (beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers, ivabradine), minimally invasive procedures (sinus node modification, catheter ablation), and therapy (CBT). Non-drug treatments may have side effects or complications.
