Schedules will change starting January 27th. Student Schedules can be accessed on JCAMPUS.
COVID19 Guidelines: As those of you who were here last year know, this is something I take really seriously. We have too much going on as a school and a community to be getting distracted with any petty behavior issues right now, so expect your teachers to hold you to a high standard right from the jump. Masks must be worn at all times and you should never be within 6 feet of anyone else. These are non-negotiable directions and you will not be joining us on-campus if you choose not to follow them. Only bring essential supplies such as a mask and computer to school with you.
Day 1 basics: Make sure you know your schedule. If you don't know it, email upperadmin@yacharterschool.org to find out. Also, learn how to log into JCAMPUS. It will help you as you transition into being a high schooler- you can check your grades, discipline referrals, schedule etc. The link is JCAMPUS
Uniform: Dress appropriately. If you're on campus, bring a mask and a backup. Don't wear a hat or hoodie or sunglasses. If you're virtual, make sure you're dressed in uniform and have somewhere private to zoom from. You can wear whatever color sneakers you want as long as they are closed toed.
Food: Don't bring a lunch or any food. Due to covid this is against the rules. The only food being consumed on campus has to come from the cafeteria.
Arrival: Arrival starts at 7:50, you are late after 8:10. Be on time because things may take longer with temperature checks and health screenings. The school day ends at 4:15.
Online Expectations: With teaching both in-person and virtual learners simultaneously, your teachers are going to be working extremely hard. If you are playing around on the zoom or interfering with the lesson, you are preventing dozens of other kids from accessing their legally guaranteed education. We cannot tolerate this as a school. You all know I trust our students and believe in second chances but this year we just cant afford to lose more time to disruptive behaviors. Mistakes happen but if you are deliberately disrupting a zoom class then you will be removed and written up for a referral. If it becomes repetitive you can expect a suspension and/or Saturday school.
PBIS: I love to do raffles and incorporate fun activities into your school day but things are a little weird right now so I could use some help. With Ms. Somers' help we're going to set up a virtual PBIS suggestion box so that we can find some covid/virtual ways to keep track of positive behavior and good deeds. Let me know what would motivate you and we'll try to make it happen!
