Tom Shuman received his Bachelors of Music Education and Bachelors of Music Performance degrees from Northern Illinois University in the Spring of 2009 and his Master's of Arts in Educational Leadership from Aurora University in 2018.
After completing his student teaching in Indian Prairie School District 204 he accepted a position working for Indian Prairie School District as an instrumental music educator at Fischer Middle School and an elementary general music teacher at Young Elementary, Springbrook Elementary, and May Watts Elementary Schools
During his three years in the district Mr. Shuman was involved in several extra-curricular activities including: Wind Ensemble, solo and ensemble, coaching middle school football & basketball, 5th grade chorus, and 5th grade drum ensemble.
Currently Mr. Shuman works as one of the Instrumental Music Educators at Autumn Creek Elementary School and Yorkvile Intermediate School, working with both the 5th and 6th grade bands as well as the 6th Grade Music Appreciation classes.
In his free time, Mr. Shuman teaches private lessons, works as a free-lance photographer, enjoys rock climbing, playing lots of board games, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
As a resident of Yorkville for the past 9 years I am proud to serve my local community.
Maggie Wood-Davis received her Bachelor's of Music Education from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2009 and a Master's of Arts in Educational Leadership from Aurora University in 2013.
Mrs. Davis has worked as one of the 5th and 6th Grade Band Directors at Autumn Creek Elementary School and Yorkville Intermediate School in Yorkville, IL since 2009.
In addition to teaching 5th and 6th grade band, Mrs. Davis teaches private flute lessons and also works for the Northeast DuPage Special Recreation Association where she is a program leader and wheelchair basketball and track & field coach.
Mrs. Davis loves playing her flute, exercising, painting, traveling, and spending time with her family. She is so grateful to be a member of the Yorkville community helping instill a love for music in her students.
