I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO A NEW MEETING WITH THE HEADMASTER AND THE HEAD OF STUDIES AND CLARIFY SOME DOUBTS ABOUT THE DANISH EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM. IT WAS A VERY INTERESTING TALK SINCE WE COULD COMPARE THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM FROM BOTH COUNTRIES AND NOTICED DIFFERENCES AND SIMILITUDES AND ALSO TALKED ABOUT WHAT IT DOESN’T WORK AND WHAT IT IS CRUCIAL TO HAVE.

THEY GAVE ME A LITTLE SOUVENIR DEVELOPED FROM THE STUDENTS.

BREAKING NEWS! THE ART COMPETITION ‘PEACE WITHOUT LIMITS’ IN THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER.

WE WERE SO PROUD OF HIM! CONGRATS ONE MORE TIME! AND GOOD LUCK FOR THE FINAL!

LET THE SHOW BEGIN! 3rd GRADERS STUDENTS PERFORMED A PLAY ABOUT THE BIRTH OF JESUS AND 0, 1st AND 2nd GRADERS WERE TO SEE IT. THEY USED THE PUPPETS THAT THEY DESIGNED AT CLASS BY THEMSELVES. ONE MORE TIME I WAS AMAZED AT THE RESPECT AND ATTENTION OF ALL THE STUDENTS.

LATER, I HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO OBSERVE HOW 6th GRADERS DID MATHS AT CLASS. THEY DON’T USE A TEXT BOOK. INSTEAD, THEY HAVE A DOSSIER WITH MATHS WORKSHEETS. THE TEACHER DOWNLOADED THESE ACTIVITIES FROM A WEBSITE THAT THEY USE TO FIND ACTIVITIES.

A SHOCKING CURIOSITY! THE KEYBOARD IS DIFFERENT BECAUSE IT CONTAINS SOME OF THE DANISH LANGUAGE’S OWN GRAPHIC. 

IN OUR COUNTRY, NOWADAYS WE ARE NOT USED TO DO POSTERS LIKE THESE. WE ARE USING THEM LESS AND LESS. STUDENTS TEND TO PREPARE PRESENTATIONS USING DIFFERENT APPS LIKE: CANVA, …. AND WE WATCH THEM THOUGH THE SCREEN. DENMARK HAS DONE ONE STEP BACKWARDS IN THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY, SINCE THEY THOUGHT THAT IT IS NOT CRUCIAL TO LEARN. PUPILS HAVE CHROMEBOOKS AND THEY PREPARE PRESENTATIONS USING THEM, BUT THEY ALSO DO PROJECTS BY HAND AS THESE POSTERS. 

ONE MORE TIME, I SAW THE HIGH LEVEL OF ENGLISH SINCE THESE TEXTS ARE WRITTEN IN PAST AND WITH A RICH VOCABULARY. 

I WAS GETTING USED TO THE WEATHER IN DENMARK AND I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE COLD. TODAY IT IS A SUNNY DAY AND I HAVE A BRILLIANT VIEW OF THE SCHOOL. 

• They don’t use textbooks, but they use worksheets provided by a website.

• Differences and similarities about their and our Educational System thanks to the meeting with the principal and the head of studies. Roughly, their curriculum is more open and flexible than ours and nowadays the use of new technologies is increasing in Spain and in Denmark has dicreased. They made a step backwards. Apart from that, Danish education system gives a lot of importance to the health and well-being environment in class, adapting the furniture, light, freedom to the students' needs. Moreover, they promote much more summative assessment than us.

• They do extracurricular activities after school, but at 17h they have dinner with their families at home.

• At 4th grade students go to learn to swim at the swimming pool of the village during some months of the year.

AS, I ARRIVED A BIT SOONER, I COULD VISIT BUDOLFI CATHEDRAL AND FORTUNATELY, THERE WAS A FANTASTIC QUARTET SINGING CHRISTMAS SONGS. WHAT LOVELY VOICES! 

TODAY, WHEN I ARRIVED TO THE APARTMENT WAS NOT STILL DARK. I CONTINUED WRITING THIS SITES AND THE REPORT FROM THE EDUCATION MINISTRY. IT WAS A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH SO LOVELY VIEWS.
