IN A DIMLY LIT HALL, THE SCHOOL DAY ALWAYS STARTS SINGING ALTOGETHER, CREATING A PEACEFUL AND RELAXING ATMOSPHERE TO PREPARE THEM TO ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE.
THIS IS ALSO A MOMENT TO GIVE IMPORTANCE TO THOSE STUDENTS WHO CELEBRATE THEIR BIRTHDAY OR IN CASE SOMETHING DIFFERENT HAPPENS.
THIS DAY, AS IT WAS DECEMBER, THEY OPENED TOGETHER THE ADVENT CALENDAR WITH A VIDEO OF A CHRISTMAS CAROL.

8:30H-9:30H. THEY STARTED THE CLASS SHARING THE PLANNING OF THE DAY. THEN, THEY WATCHED AND LISTENED TO A SONG AND THEY SANG IT. THEY OPENED TOGETHER THE ADVENT CALENDAR.
THEY PRACTICED NUMBERS. THEY CHOSE A NUMBER AND THAT NUMBER EXPLAINED A CHRISTMAS TRADITION. TODAY, IT IS "TIÓ" TURN. I EXPLAINED OUR CATALAN TRADITION SHOWING A TEDDY "TIÓ" FROM CATALONIA. WE SANG TOGETHER THE "TIÓ" SONG.
SECRET SANTA MOMENT. ONE KID OPENED A PRESENT THAT ANOTHER KID HAS BROUGHT. EVERY DAY A DIFFERENT KID OPENS A GIFT.
LATER, THE TEACHER OPENED AN ENVELOPE AND READ A SANTA’S MESSAGE. STUDENTS HAD TO DO AN INDIVIDUALLY ACTIVITY TO SOLVE THE MYSTERY OF THE STOLEN SANTA’S SLEIGH.
9:30H-10:00H. DURING THE BREAKTIME, THE DANISH TEACHERS TASTED A PIECE OF THE TYPICAL SPANISH OMELETTE: “TORTILLA DE PATATAS”.
10:00H-10:30H. STORYTIME ACTIVE LISTENING:
THE TEACHER TOLD A STORY, FIRST WITH THE BOOK AND THEN, THE STORY WAS RETOLD FOLLOWING THE IMAGES OF THE SCREEN. AFTERWARDS, SHE ASKED TO THE STUDENTS COMPREHENSION QUESTIONS ABOUT IT.
THEY SANG A SONG OF THE DANISH ALPHABET.
THEY MAINLY FOCUS ON ORAL ACTIVITIES, SINCE THEY HAVE A LOT OF DIFFICULT SOUNDS TO LEARN IN DANISH.
10:30H-11:00H BREAKTIME. USING A SNOW SUITE DUE TO THE COLD DAY.
11:00-11:30H. PLURILINGUAL ACTIVITIES:
THE TEACHER INTRODUCED A PLURILINGUAL ACTIVITY THROUGH A VIDEO ABOUT KIDS FROM UGANDA AND THE WAY THEY LIVE. AFTER WATCHING THE VIDEO STUDENTS COMPARED ORALLY ABOUT HOW IS THE STYLE OF LIFE IN UGANDA AND IN DENMARK. THEY ALSO COMMENTED HOW THEY HELP AND COULD HELP IN THEIR HOMES. LATER, WE WATCHED A VIDEO AND KIDS FROM UGANDA TAUGHT US THE NUMBERS IN THEIR LANGUAGE.
WE PRACTICED THE NUMBERS, AND SOME KIDS TAUGHT THE NUMBERS IN THEIR MOTHER TONGUE (FINNISH & POLISH) OR IN A LANGUAGE THAT THEY KNEW, BECAUSE IT WAS LEARNED WHILE TRAVELLING ABROAD (ENGLISH & GREEK). FINALLY, THEY TAUGHT ME THE NUMBERS IN DANISH AND I TAUGHT THEM THE NUMBERS IN CATALAN AND IN SPANISH TOO.
11:30H-12:00H LUNCHTIME:
TODAY I HAVE EXPLAINED THE CATALAN TRADITION OF THE “TIÓ” TO THE DANISH TEACHERS AND I HAVE GIVEN THEM A SMALL TEDDY TIÓ AS A GIFT. WE HAVE BEEN COMPARING OUR CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS (THE DANISH, SPANISH AND CATALAN TRADITIONS) WITH SANTA, THE NAUGHTY ELVES, THE TIÓ AND THE THREE WISE MEN.
12:00H-14:30H DUS:
“DUS” IS THE MOMENT, AFTER LESSONS, WHERE KIDS CAN CHOOSE FREELY WHAT TO DO.
THIS MONTH OF DECEMBER, AS IT IS SPECIAL FOR CHRISTMAS TIME, THEY ALSO WATCH A SHORT FILM ('30) WHILE THEY FINISH EATING THEIR LUNCH BROUGHT FROM HOME, BECAUSE THERE IS NO SCHOOL CANTEEN.
14:30-15:00H THE NAUGHTY "ELF ON THE SHELF":
AFTER THIS FREE TIME AND THE BREAK, THEY DO SOME ACTIVITIES TOGETHER LIKE ‘WHAT HAS CJELDUR, THE NAUGHTY ELF, DONE?’
FINALLY, FROM 14TH ON PARENTS COME TO PICK THEIR KIDS UP.
Start the day singing together and congratulating a child for her birthday in front of the rest.
Sharing with the classmates the planning of the class.

IN THE BASEMENT OF JENS BANG'S STONE HOUSE YOU WILL FIND DUUS' VINKJÆLDER. HERE YOU CAN ENJOY A MEDIEVAL WINE CELLAR ATMOSPHERE AND HAVE A DRINK.
