SCHOOL AND CONTEXT

School El Farell is one of the three public schools in Caldes de Montbui. It is next to the sport zone, it has got three buildings and big playgrounds. It has got students from the village and from different residential areas. It has got around 440 students. Our school has got two groups in each level, from P3 to year 6.

Our school has been always concerned with English. When the normative told schools to start teaching English at level 3, we started one session per week at level 1 (year 2001-2002). From year 2005 to 2008 we did our first PELE project. It was about introducing English in P4 and P5 and increasing the practice of speaking English in Primary. During years 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 we did our second PELE about CLIL. We started to teach Art and Science in English (one session per week) and we introduced English in P3.

Since then, we have always been doing CLIL at our school, changing topics and ways of organizing. Nowadays we do some topics of Science at year 4, 5 and 6. We teach two sessions per week in each class.

This year that we have started GEP, we have implemented a new topic in year 5: Geometry.
