I have been teaching science for many years, I was one of the teachers who started the PELE project, so I had some experience in this field. I have to say that during this formation I have learned a lot. I reminded some things from previous courses but I learned lots of new ones. As everything, teaching CLIL has changed and I have realised about a wide range of activities and different approaches to teaching.

We have been working as a team. We are three teachers implementing GEP project at our school. I have to say that I felt very comfortable working with them. We have helped each other and we have organised our work easily.

Implementation time has been very nice. Our students were pleased with our lessons and highly motivated. They are used to learn some science topics in English so it was not difficult for them to follow the lessons. I was really pleased when some students asked if we were not going to continue doing maths in English!

In my case, this is the first time I have found myself participating in an English project. I have learned lots of new activities, resources and ideas to prepare my lessons, even outside the GEP lessons! At first I was a little nervous about my capabilities to explain myself properly in English. But, during the implementation lessons, I found out that our students were so motivated, prepared and willing to understand whatever we would say that I finally could feel relaxed.

On the other hand, sometimes I personally had the feeling that some students were not fully understanding some of the activities. I had to translate some of the vocabulary or the sentences I have said. Perhaps this is the way to be more conscious about your own English. In the end, our lessons were hardly thought and prepared to make our students learn and have fun, and I have to say that we have accomplished this objective.

The realization of these activities in the classroom has helped me extend my knowledge in a field that I consider to be very useful for my future as a teacher.

I am convinced that reflecting on innovative experiences has given me an improvement in my own educational practice.

In fact, this training is innovative with regard to methodology in the classroom since I have been able to learn to use different methodological resources unknown to me such as: new evaluation methodologies, audiovisual material, innovative activities, use of TIC.

I was also surprised by the implementation of these activities in the classroom, learning has been more interactive and autonomous. The most practiced skills have been reading and listening comprehension.

I am aware that for the implementation of this project two important ideas must be into account: a good knowledge of the language that would be satisfied by an academic training (that in these moments I haven’t). On the other hand, a good choice of materials and didactic resources to attend the diversity of the different cognitive levels of my students.
