Fostering ocean literacy and sustainability through European collaboration and student engagement
Empowering students and communities through marine education and cross-border cooperation
As part of our Erasmus+ Accreditation 2022–2027, we are proud to share that Col·legi Sant Josep de Navàs has been officially recognised as a European Blue School thanks to our participation in the Erasmus+ project Wat@rt, developed in collaboration with partner schools from Ireland and Portugal. 🌊🇪🇺
This achievement was also made possible through collaborations at local, regional, national, and European levels, and by meeting the key objectives required by the Blue Schools Network:
Interlinked and meaningful activities
Full student involvement
Collaboration with local partners
Clear project outcomes and community impact
Authentic and interdisciplinary learning experiences
A strong land-sea connection
A European and global dimension
Learning beyond the classroom
This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainability, ocean literacy, and quality education across borders.
A recognition of collaborative leadership, innovation, and European commitment in education
Recognising our commitment to collaborative teaching, shared leadership, and European values in education
We are proud to announce that Col·legi Sant Josep Navàs has been awarded the eTwinning School Label 2025–2026 — a distinction that recognises schools across Europe for their leadership, innovation, and active participation in the eTwinning community.
This award highlights our commitment not only to international collaboration, but also to a shared vision of teaching and learning, where both students and teachers play an active role in shaping an open, inclusive, and forward-looking educational environment.
Shared leadership and strategic vision
At Col·legi Sant Josep, school management and teacher leaders work hand in hand to integrate eTwinning into our school’s educational vision and daily practice. eTwinning is part of our policy, professional development plan, and ongoing innovation strategy.
Collaboration at the heart
Our teachers form a united, collaborative team that co-designs eTwinning projects and pedagogical initiatives, while continuously sharing experiences and best practices within and beyond our school.
Students as active participants
In our eTwinning journey, students are not just participants — they are agents of change. They take on leadership roles in the digital and pedagogical innovation process, raising awareness about eTwinning among peers, teachers, and families.
A model for other schools
As an eTwinning School, we are committed to inspiring and supporting other schools in our region. We actively share our knowledge, host open events, and promote professional development opportunities that encourage more schools to join and grow within the eTwinning community.
Being recognised as an eTwinning School confirms our belief in the power of European collaboration, teacher empowerment, and student agency as key drivers for educational transformation.
We will continue to promote the values of inclusion, digital citizenship, creativity, and sustainability — shaping the kind of education that empowers students to be better learners, responsible citizens, and agents of a brighter future.
A commitment to UNESCO values, global citizenship, and sustainable education
An important milestone in our journey towards global education
On May 9th, Col·legi Sant Josep Navàs held a special event to celebrate its official recognition as a member of the UNESCO Associated Schools Network of Catalonia (XEAUC). This network, which includes around 50 schools across Catalonia, aims to promote UNESCO values by embedding them in daily school life and developing projects that improve the community and support those in need.
Our school joined the network during the 2023–2024 school year, thanks to a wide range of actions, projects, campaigns, celebrations, and collaborations that reflect these essential values.
During the recognition event, Luisa Márquez, national coordinator of UNESCO Associated Schools in Spain, visited our school along with other members of the network to present the official certificate and commemorative plaque. The ceremony was attended by the school leadership team, teachers, class environmental representatives, and members of the Families' Association (AFA). The distinction was formally presented to our headteacher, Montse Mollet.
Among the highlighted initiatives contributing to this achievement are:
Erasmus+ and eTwinning projects
Participation in the School Day of Non-Violence and Peace (DENIP)
Fundraising campaigns for Mans Unides
Solidarity actions such as food and donation drives
Engagement with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda
Celebration of Domund
Our commitment to sustainability as a certified Green School
This recognition strengthens our mission to educate for peace, global citizenship, and sustainable development, in line with UNESCO’s values and vision.
