We think that GEP courses helped us to discover a new set of techniques and tools that will help us to do much more intelligible, dynamic and interesting lessons.
This course has allowed us to rethink our way of teaching and implement, a variety of new strategies to be able to reach all our students. We have found out that sometimes we give too many things for granted and that's important to overcome the language barrier that may prevent our students from understanding our lessons.
Students were motivated in the sessions because they loved the mystery skype activity and they wanted to communicate with other students and invite them to come here. They liked to work together in groups because they had their roles and they knew exactly what they have to do.
We need to improve S-S interaction. It is not only about giving them sentences, that they can use, but giving them strategies to avoid being shy. We consider that we gave them useful material, but we need to help them to jump the barrier to speak in English.
This academic year we found more difficulies than in a normal situation, we had the class confined in the middle of the project.
This year we implemented the project with secondary students and specially primary teachers found difficulties because the characteristics of secondary and primary students are different.
We think that CLIL programs can be very advantageous for students and that they can create positive synergies among language and content lessons.
