Careers at XP

At XP, we believe your future starts now — that’s why we include careers in everything we do, from working with experts to going on fieldwork and creating real products in our expeditions.

Learning about different careers and the world of work is an important part of how we support you during your time at XP. We want to help you feel confident and ready for whatever path you choose — whether that’s going to college or university, getting an apprenticeship, starting a job, or doing something totally unique.

As the world changes, it’s important that you understand your options and learn the skills you’ll need to make good decisions about your future.

How Careers Education Works at XP

At XP, we work closely with outside organisations to give you a full careers programme. This includes advice, information, experiences, and support to help you figure out what’s right for you.

Even in primary school, our expedition work — especially the fieldwork and working with real experts — helps build the skills and confidence you’ll need for the future.

As you move through school, you’ll be part of a Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) programme that:

• Is based on the Gatsby Benchmarks (these are national guidelines for good careers education)

• Gives you clear, honest, and helpful advice about your future options

• Helps you build useful life and work skills

• Is linked to your regular lessons and expeditions

• Encourages you to start thinking about your future early, from Year 7 onwards

• Supports you through choices at GCSE, post-16, and beyond

• Helps you make career decisions that are right for you — and aim high

• Gives you access to information about college, university, apprenticeships, and technical training

• Teaches you about the world of work and how to adapt as it changes

• Promotes activism, equity, diversity, and fairness — your future is yours, no matter your background
