WHAT'S OUR ACTION PLAN?
XCP Go Green will use funds from sustainable school fundraising drives in order to purchase more recycling bins that are clearly labeled, and at least two compost bins for the campus. These funds can also be used to purchase food in non-plastic and recyclable packaging for the XCP cafeteria. This will cut down on the amount of non-recyclable/non-compostable materials collected by the school, or those put in the wrong bin.
We will promote our cause for sustainability through social media, including Instagram and YouTube. We will post daily recycling quotes and facts to educate the public and fellow XCP students. XCP Go Green will also attempt to create an environmental advocacy week. Coupled with our social media sites, these environmental advocacy weeks will educate other students on sustainability and will inspire others to take on our cause.
OPPOSERS OF THE PLAN
Leaders of the school might oppose the plan because of the need for funds, however, we are ready to create funds on our own accord. We are planning to talk to administrators and school leaders about our plan. This ongoing problem will be dealt with the civil society. Some may also argue that recycling lacks convenience, that recycling is too expensive, or causes pollution. Though some of these arguments may be true, recycling helps in the long run. Recycling, once implemented thoroughly, will pay for itself. The cost of having a world to live in is never too much. Some may argue that changing this policy in schools isn't doing enough. But little by little, these small changes will create a bigger wave of influence. The opposition will always be there, but together we can work against it.
SUPPORTERS OF OUR PLAN
Our plan will hopefully gain many supporters in the student body and community. Politically speaking, leaders of the community will agree that the problem in our environment is getting out of hand. XCP Go Green will gain supporters through our various social media platforms, including Instagram and Youtube. Our cause will not be unheard. People in positions of influence could help us, as well. We would reach out to leaders of clubs and administration to help implement our ideas and put them into action.
