Collaborating Opportunities
You are all amazing students, and I am so glad to have you back in the building. This year, I will be providing more opportunities for you to meet up with your peers to talk about and work together on topics that interest you. Please email or stop by my office if there is a specific topic you want to have a group gathering. We will post dates, times, and topics on this page and share them in morning announcements as we move forward, but we plan on meeting during Hawk Time.
You all are leaders, and you lead in beautifully different and unique ways. Please recognize the gift you bring to our school community and participate to make it even better!
Back to School Feelings - Wednesday, September 4th, during Hawk Time in the Guidance classroom.
Everyone has different feelings coming back to school. Meet with classmates to talk about things you're excited about for the new school year, things that make you nervous, and goals you hope to accomplish. Any fun stories about family or pets are always appreciated!
Bully Prevention Month - First meeting, Wednesday, September 11th, during Hawk Time in the Guidance classroom.
During the month of October, Miss Polzin will visit classrooms to talk about bullying and what we can do as a school community to help stop it.
I am looking for students who would like to help plan what we can do as a community to bring awareness to others. All types of talent are needed. We will need posters, people writing announcements, people reading the announcements, and creative ideas from you!
Even if you are unsure what to do, bring yourself and a positive attitude, and we'll pair you up with classmates and make sure you're having fun!
Red Ribbon Week Drug and Alcohol Prevention- Information coming soon!
Mindfulness
You will have opportunities to practice mindfulness outside of the classroom lessons. Come to this page weekly to see different videos, worksheets, or activities to help you develop your mindfulness skills. Remember, this is a personal journey; we all start at various places. It is ok for your brain to feel busy when you use this. With time, your brain will learn to slow down.
Mindful Coloring - Thursday, September 5th, during Hawk Time in the Guidance classroom.
Coloring pages and supplies will be provided. Feel free to bring your preferred coloring supplies.
Music will play as you quietly color and let your mind relax.
