Northern Rockies Tree School
2022 NRTS - Cancelled
Our Mission
Providing affordable, educational experiences fostering a higher degree of knowledge, professionalism, and comradery among arborists and community foresters in Wyoming and Montana.
History of the Tree School
The Northern Rockies Tree School resulted from the merge of two separate conferences in Wyoming and Montana. Both had been occurring every other year and combining the two allowed for an annual conference that alternates between the two states. The first Northern Rockies Tree School was in Cody, WY in 2010 and since then has been hosted by several northern Wyoming and southern Montana communities.
About NRTS
This annual event is a partnership between Wyoming and Montana urban and community forestry programs, alternating hosting and planning duties each year (WY even years and MT odd years). We offer this training/educational opportunity to a variety of disciplines including master gardeners, working arborists, nursery and greenhouse workers, extension agents, conservation districts, municipal forestry workers, and city, county, state, and federal gov't forestry employees. During this event we cover diverse topics providing an educational, interactive, intimate, and engaging opportunity for attendees within the multi-faceted world of community forestry with indoor, outdoor, and hands-on learning sessions.
