Lessons of Competence: 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14
Wayne and his wife, Amy, pioneered in a Muslim tribal community for fifteen years. They travel regularly to Asia to continue training leaders and checking translations done by local believers. Their work in educational development was recognized with UNESCO recently (https://eurasia.sil.org/ - see the lead article, "Mobile schools for nomad children wins top UNESCO award"). They love camping, hunting, and fishing with their family: five kids and six grandchildren. After starting field ministry with lots of fear and little faith, the Edwardses have seen God do wonders in the most difficult places and situations - and love telling audiences to radically trust Him no matter what He asks them to do. They shared their testimony at Urbana 2022 - see "Josh and Kimberly Michaels" session at https://urbana.org/conference. Wayne's ministry work experience: missions director in his home church, Perspectives coordinator, multilingual education specialist, community development and disaster relief management, church planting team leader, Bible translation translation consulting, conference and event speaking. Wayne served as an officer in the Colorado Army National Guard.
