Georgia works with global Scripture Engagement strategies so that local language communities can flourish. She has been serving with Wycliffe Bible Translators and intentionally loving her diverse neighbors in immigrant and refugee communities for 25 years - in Dearborn, MI & in Greeley, CO. Georgia serves as a Language & Culture Learning Specialist with the SIL Global Diaspora Team. She focuses on displaced peoples for holistic integration and flourishing in their communities. Georgia first cultivated curiosity for language and culture in her own Greek immigrant context.
She has been learning and teaching language cumulatively for 35 years, and finds great joy in coaching others through the process of acquiring another language and building bridges into other people's lives and cultures. She earned her BA in Spanish for bilingual education and ESL, and her MA from Wayne State University in Language Learning, Spanish, and Linguistics.
Georgia's first love is Jesus the Messiah, and she cherishes Biblical literacy as a great privilege. God's Word empowers her to love her neighbors and the nations, with the hope that people from every tribe would also have access to fullness of life in Christ (Revelations 7:9).
