The Roosevelt High School Marching Band, has been known as the "Wyandotte Marching Chiefs" for over 70 years. The band took on this "nick-name" in the 1950s when founding band director, Kenneth Hauer was bringing the band to Interlochen Fine Arts camp for Band Camp. Though RHS is the home of the BEARS the RHS Marching Band supports the heritage of our entire Wyandotte community by carrying the name "Wyandotte Marching Chiefs!" In 2008 the band's nick name was defended by then Chief, Leaford Bearskin of the Sovereign Wyandotte Nation of Oklahoma.
