Hello Wonderful WMS Families,
First off, thank you to all of you who completed our Parent Feedback Survey! I would like to share the results for the question about the amount of work students are expected to do. Of the 129 responses 66% said it is just about right, 22% said there is too much work, and 12% said there is too little work. Like I shared in last week’s letter, we know there is a not a one-size-fits-all approach. And although 66% indicated that we are just about right in this area, that means that we need to do better for 34% of our students. We need your help with this! Please contact your child's teachers so they can work with you to come up with a personalized academic program that works for your child and your family during these difficult times.
The survey data has been reviewed by the Building Leadership Team and will be shared with the rest of the staff on Monday during their team meetings. Teams will determine how to use the information gained from this data to best support their students and families. Just a reminder, students receive their assignments for the week on Monday and have until the end of the day on Thursday to turn them in. Friday is when teachers review the assignments, provide feedback, and update IC (which may take a day or two depending on the number of assignments). This allows teachers the ability to focus their time and effort on supporting students Monday through Thursday.
Again, thank you for your continued support! Let’s keep working together to give your child the best educational experience that we can!

Hello Wonderful WMS Families,
Another week has come and gone and hopefully your children have come up with a schedule that is working for them. I have worked with middle school age students for 30 years and here are two things that I have learned and would like to share with you (although I’m pretty sure you already know!) Sometimes, middle school students need parental help with developing an appropriate schedule. This is not uncommon. If your child is struggling with this please work with him/her to develop a schedule that is reasonable for the situation at home. Here’s another one, just because your child says that his/her school work is done does not necessarily mean that it is all done. I know, shocking. For those of you that do not know how to use Infinite Campus, ask your child to log in and show you their work completion for each class. Remember, a T indicates that an assignment has been Turned in and an M indicates that an assignment is Missing. And as always, if you have any questions or concerns please contact their teachers. Your feedback during this time is very important to us. The Building Leadership Team is developing a survey to see how things are going and I hope to have it out to you by next Friday. Thank you for your continued understanding and support!
