My name is Khadija M'bodj. I am a current senior at Winton woods. I have been going to Winton woods for my whole high school career. I'm a part of a school program inclusively at Winton Woods High school called Acadamy of Global Studies (AGS). AGS focuses on global development. Throughout the span of 4 years, we focus on different criteria. Freshman year we learned and understood the sustainable development goals. Sophomores practice Model UN which is where students represent countries all over the world and debating and finding solutions to global issues in respects to the SDGs. Juniors focused on argumentative debates. Now as seniors we are learning how to be effective leaders in today's world. Being a part of this program has given me a different perspective on the world in so many ways. I come from a Immigrant family from Senegal and Mauritania , West Africa. Being in touch with where I come from and my culture is so important to me. This has given me such a big perspective on different people and where they come from. This has put me between two cultures, which can sometimes be challenging but rewarding. This has inspired me so much in terms of giving back and being thankful for what I have.
