GRADE 8 STUDENTS - HIGH SCHOOL COURSE SELECTION
During the first week of March, eighth-grade students will meet with our high school counseling department to review academic core course recommendations and request electives for the upcoming school year. During this time, counselors will review scheduling expectations and other important details related to matriculation at Westwood Regional High School.
Before this meeting, please take some time to review the current teacher recommendations available in the Genesis Parent Portal. Only academic core courses (English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and World Language) are recommended by current classroom teachers and cannot be requested by students. Student course level recommendations are based upon student performance as outlined in the WRHS Program of Studies. For more information regarding what criteria are used in the academic core classes, please refer to the Curriculum Office website.
Grade 8 Parents and Students can make requests for high school electives in Genesis. Please click here for Parent Portal Scheduling Instructions and a tutorial regarding the selection of electives to assist your child.
