KAREN ANN FORGIONE | VPA SUPERVISOR K-12
Ms. Forgione has over 20 years of experience in the arts, spanning schools and nonprofit organizations. She is in her ninth year as K–12 Supervisor of Visual, Performing, and Related Arts at Westwood Regional School District, returning after eight years working at Bergen Performing Arts Center and as Summit Public Schools’ District Supervisor of Fine, Performing, and Practical Arts. Outside of education, she has held leadership and fundraising roles at Ars Nova Theatre in New York City, Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, and Annie’s Playhouse School of Performing Arts in Far Hills.
Karen has taught Theatre Arts at Middlesex County College, Universitetet i Bergen in Norway, and the Union County Academy for the Performing Arts, where she helped launch the theatre program. A former Fulbright Scholar, she holds a BA in Theatre and English from Bucknell University and an MA in Performance Studies from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. She is currently pursuing her credentials an Independent College Counselor through UC-Irvine.
