All students will be enrolled in an art class. In addition, please select the following:
1. Active: either Cooperative Games class or Performing Arts class
2. STEM: either STEM focused class or Technology focused class (these classes will run for two periods)
In this class, students will explore art from around the world and throughout history! They will learn how artists and art movements have reflected and shaped different cultures, while discovering their own creative voice. Students will create a variety of artwork: sometimes inspired by famous artists, other times expressing their own ideas and styles. Projects may include painting, mosaics, 3D sculptures, and more, giving students a hands-on, colorful journey through the world of art.
In this class, students will explore a variety of dance styles and music! Through structured activities, they will learn basic dance terminology, develop coordination and balance, and practice responding to rhythm and music. Students will use fun props like scarves, rhythm sticks, and egg shakers as they move to the beat, all while enjoying a lively and playful dance experience.
Welcome to the exciting world of Cooperative Games! In this fun and inclusive class, students will explore teamwork, communication, and collaboration through engaging activities and team-building challenges. Designed to foster a positive and supportive environment, this class encourages every child to contribute, cooperate, and succeed together. Along the way, students will stay active, build social skills, and learn the lifelong value of working as a team.
In Junior Builders Lab, students dive into hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) projects that spark creativity, curiosity, and teamwork! Through building, experimenting, and designing, students will explore real-world challenges and bring their ideas to life. Activities may include constructing bridges, testing parachutes, creating mini machines, or using stories from beloved children’s books as inspiration for projects. This interactive class encourages problem-solving, collaboration, and a love of learning in a fun and engaging way!
Let’s get those fingers moving! In this hands-on technology class, students will build essential computer skills while having fun. They will practice keyboarding to increase speed and accuracy, learn to navigate computers confidently, and explore a variety of applications to create digital projects such as audiobooks, magazine papers, class blog posts, event flyers, and “how-to” videos. Beginner coding will be introduced in a playful, easy-to-understand way, encouraging problem-solving, creativity, and logical thinking. Along the way, students will become more confident using technology as a tool to explore, create, and share their ideas.
