Our classroom has so many exciting things for the students, one of them being the "word wall." At the beginning of the school year, each child has a chance to put their name on the word wall under the correct letter of the alphabet. Each week after, we add a few new high frequency words to the wall. The children are expected to recognize and spell each of these words. We practice learning them through various activities in the classroom. A great way to practice at home is by reading a story to your child and having them point out the sight words they are learning that particular week. This is very exciting for them!
