Character Education

Character Education is a major component in the School Counseling Program. This school-wide program, is designed to teach children core values and good character traits. Messages are executed through a variety of educational approaches; school-wide positive reinforcement program, classroom lessons, morning announcements, small group and individual counseling sessions. Additionally, school assemblies, and various activities led by the school's Peer Pals will continue to create a school-wide discussion on each character trait of the month. The goal is to strengthen children's social and emotional development, leading them to become moral, civic, and good citizens.


Each month, students will have the opportunity to learn about a new Character Trait. They will learn about the trait through short videos, activities, school wide events, as well as classroom lessons. Students who demonstrate the monthly trait can earn character tickets from any adult in the building, which get entered into the George School Box– at the end of each month 5 winners will be chosen. All of the winning tickets are entered into our Cardinals With Character lottery and a grand prize winner is selected. Please see below for more information...


  • Each month we will focus on 1 Character Trait ~ this month is RESPECT
  • Throughout the school day students have the opportunity to earn tickets from any adult at school. These tickets are them placed into the Cardinals With Character box in the from of the building.
  • At the end of each month 5 random winners are selected. They receive a prize and are mentioned in the weekly SMORE !
  • All the winning tickets from the year will be put into the Cardinals With Character lottery. 1 grand prize winner will be chosen!
