Hello! My name is Hannah Kim and this is my 3rd year teaching General Music at Washington Elementary School and Jessie F. George Elementary School.
I grew up in Tenafly where I learned the flute in 4th grade, joined the percussion ensemble in middle school, and sang in the high school choir. But my main instrument has always been the piano and attended the Juilliard Pre-College for 5 years. After graduating with a B.A. in piano performance from Manhattan School of Music in 3 years, I received my M.A in Music Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
7 years of working as a Teaching Artist for Carnegie Hall and Columbia University was exciting, but I finally settled down in Ramsey and taught music at George Washington Elementary School in Wyckoff for 8 years.
Then I taught at Cunningham Creek Elementary School in Florida for 6 years where the school mascot was a cardinal. I even wrote a song called "Cardinal Strong." Go check it out on YouTube!!
I'm so excited to be back in New Jersey after realizing that I need four seasons in my life. When I found out I would be teaching music at George and Washington Schools where the mascot is the cardinal, I almost fell off my chair!
Go Cardinals!
