Curriculum

Reading

The students will take part in the Orton-Gillingham reading program, and Reading Workshop, which will allow them to gain the necessary skills that they need in order to understand the reading concepts. These programs will achieve phonics, comprehension, spelling, and reading fluency skills using a multi-sensory approach.

Writing

The students will take part in different writing activities throughout the Writing Workshop program. This program will help them with their writing, and will allow them to express their thoughts and ideas.

Math

Envisions Math is the math curriculum that the students will be utilizing to help them learn their math skills. It is a very hands-on program, and will allow the students to be very successful and achieve all of their math goals. It is aligned to the Common Core Standards. The topics that the students will learn are Addition, Subtraction, Number Patterns, Base 10, Algebraic Thinking, Length, Time, Data, Geometry, and Fractions.

Science

The students will be learning all about air and weather, plants and animals, and sound and light through the FOSS program .

Social Studies

The students will be learning all about our classroom community, businesses and workers in our community, making a difference, and American folklore.
