Welcome to my website! I am the Vocal Music Director and General Music Teacher (Guitar/Music Tech) at the Westwood Regional Middle School. Prior to transferring to WRMS, I was the General Music and Choir teacher at both Berkeley and Brookside Elementary Schools.
I graduated from the John J. Cali School of Music (at Montclair State University) with a B.A. in Music Education, and completed my Master's in Music Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. I have been playing classical piano since I was six years old, and have also learned to play many different instruments through my undergraduate and graduate programs. I performed in my school choir from elementary school through college, and truly believe there is something so special about singing together in a group.
Music has always been my outlet for self-expression and creativity. My aim in the classroom is to provide all students with the grounds to discover and develop their own interests in music through engaging and relatable activities. I promise to encourage each child to think, take risks (and to not be afraid of mistakes), perform, share, create, appreciate and be open to new experiences.
When not at WRMS, you may find me playing piano for various district music concerts, or chaperoning the fun band/choir trips. When not in school, I enjoy gardening, practicing yoga, reading books, traveling to new places, and creating memories with my family.
