It is each staff members responsibility to read and become familiar with the following policies. This list represents only a portion of the full Board of Education Policies & Regulations (each Policy and Regulation can be found by clicking on the associated link). If you have questions about any of these Policies or Regulations, please speak with your immediate supervisor.
Staff Member/School District Reporting Responsibilities:
N.J.A.C. 6A:9B-4.3(c) requires that “1. All certificate holders shall report to the superintendent their arrest or indictment for any crime or offense within 14 calendar days of the arrest or indictment. The report shall include the date of the arrest or indictment and charge(s) lodged against the certificate holder. 2. Certificate holders arrested or indicted for any crime or offense shall report to their superintendent the disposition of any charges within seven calendar days of the disposition." Failure to comply with these reporting requirements may be deemed “just cause” pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6A:9B-4.4. School districts shall make these requirements known to new employees and to all employees on an annual basis.
Non-certificated staff should note that in December, 2018, the Board of Education adopted Policy #4159, which applies these same notification requirements to staff who do not hold a certificate from the Department of Education.
