An observation is something that you can recognize via your senses.
An inference is a logical interpretation that you can make based off of previous knowledge/experience.
The Scientific Method is a standardized approach to collecting measurable data based off of a general thought. The results will often either support or counter the initial hypothesis. Use this link to look at the list of vocab words we should review.
Qualitative Data: Information that cannot be measured.
Ex - Color of the sky; texture of the object
Quantitative Data: Data that can be described numerically
Ex - Amount of hairs found; Level of pH indicated
