We are a member of Bergen County Region II, and, subsequently, shares special education services within the Region. We partner with Region II to provide parents in need with the appropriate training necessary to support their children at home. Through this training, parents have the opportunity to prioritize their concerns regarding the behavior of their children, while also learning about recommended ABA strategies and interventions to address these behaviors. Furthermore, parents are educated on the implementation of these recommendations.
Within the training program parents attend two, two hour workshops and are provided with a one on one discussion with the facilitator to determine any additional needs. Based upon the interview, a recommendation for additional training may be given. If deemed appropriate by the CST team, parents will be provided additional hours of individualized training to target the specific identified areas of need.
In tandem with our Parent Training program, we offer in home ABA services to our students when necessary. These services include discrete trial instruction, community integration, and behavioral management strategies. In addition, the in-home therapists and parent trainers provide direct feedback, and information on each student's progress to the assigned case manger as a means to maintain open lines of communication and strengthen the home-school connection.
