US History 2 Honors Yearly Planning Guide
This document provides a weekly pacing guide for the class and contains all weekly reading assignments. For each week, students should read the assigned text and be prepared for an assessment covering the material during the first class meeting of each week. This weekly assessment will be referred to as a Reading Check (RC) in Genesis and is the only homework assigned on a regular basis.

I have completed my Doctoral studies and have earned my degree from the University of SC. The study/research was the result of a long term effort of mine as a teacher - the idea of using numeracy (mathematical literacy) to add to the study of history. As a result, we will be incorporating, as appropriate, the creation and interpretations of spreadsheets, charts, graphs, maps, etc. to deepen our understanding of what we are currently studying. The map to the left is called a choropleth, and numeracy instruction allows the students to interpret it correctly.
