Health and Wellness:
40% of your grade = Classroom Written Activities (all of the activities we complete in google classroom or on paper during class time)
30% of your grade = Projects (larger classroom activities: will be specified), Tests, and Quizzes.
30% of your grade = Participation (your attendance/ behavior / contribution to class/ engagement in classroom activities)

GRADING:
Every student starts with 100% (A+)
Grading is based on two categories – Performance (85%) and Assessment (15%)
Students may lose points off their final grade due to the following issues listed below
Performance: 80 points → This includes how students are expected to learn, interact, behave, and participate. Performance grades includes:
Sneakers (-2 pt)
Gum (-1)
Cell phones (-2)
Late (-1)
Not following class procedures/directions (-1 to 3 pts)
Written: 20 points: This grade includes any tests, projects, or written work assigned.
CLASSROOM PROCEDURES:
Students should use the restroom in the locker room during changing time. If a student must go to a hallway restroom, that student must ask a teacher.
When students are finished getting changed, they are expected to walk in the lower gym while attendance is taken.
Students are expected to use a SCHOOL ISSUED lock on their locker. Any student without a lock may be penalized for Performance for each day it is missing.
There are NO spray deodorants/colognes/perfumes allowed in the locker room. ONLY roll-on deodorants are permitted. Any sprays found in the locker room will be confiscated.
The use of any personal electronics in class is prohibited unless otherwise stated by your teacher. The details of this policy are explained further below.
No food, drinks (except water), or gum chewing is allowed in class.
It is expected that you will participate actively in class activities and discussions. Class participation is a factor in determining your grade.
Students must wear athletic shoes, shorts of reasonable length (4” inseam or greater) or athletic pants, and a t-shirt or sweatshirt to Physical Education class. No tank tops or cut off shirts are permitted. Failure to do so will result in an unprepared. The details of this policy are explained further below.
The end of the period is determined by the teacher. The teacher will dismiss the class after all the equipment is returned and the area is cleaned up.
ELECTRONICS
There are to be NO ELECTRONICS in the gym during class time, including students who are unprepared. Everything must be locked in the student's assigned locker.
*Teachers may have students bring electronics if needed for the day’s lesson. Students will be notified beforehand*
MEDICAL EXCUSE POLICY
Physical Education teachers cannot excuse students from participation from class for medical reasons. Students who need to be excused from PE for medical reasons must go to the nurse’s office prior to the start of the school day. A note from a parent can excuse students for up to TWO days. Longer excuses will require a note from a physician. Students are responsible for completing assignments based on how many classes are missed.
