Crisis Committee Overview

Set in the post-apocalyptic city of Chicago during the mid-to-late 23rd century, society has taken the form of five factions: Dauntless, Amity, Erudite, Candor, and Abnegation. Each faction adds a key aspect to society, whether it’s growing and harvesting food or protecting the city from outsiders. At the age of sixteen, a test is administered to young adults to determine which faction they would fit best in; however, all testers can choose what faction they would like to join: whether it’s their home faction or a brand new one. 

Once you enter a faction, you cannot leave and are bound to it for the rest of your life. Those deemed “factionless” will live the rest of their life on the streets, unwelcome in any faction. However, some individuals test as “Divergent,” meaning they possess qualities that align with multiple factions. Due to their nature, Divergents are viewed as dangerous by many figures in power, meaning many keep their identity a secret.

In this committee, delegates assume the roles of members from the five factions to address the power struggle between the factions and the elusive group of people known as Divergents. As tensions rise, can you navigate the dangerous balance of power, or will the Divergents’ hidden strength tip the city into chaos?
