Similar to escape rooms, breakouts challenge players to find and solve clues to open locks on a breakout box.
Some clues might be given to you or in an obvious place; they can also be hidden!
Clues usually open one lock (normally) but may be used to open multiple locks!
Clues can be almost anything - but usually something that seems "out of place"
Digital breakouts don't have a physical box to unlock. (My digital breakouts have a Google Form the player submits to "breakout" and they cannot submit incorrect answers)
Not all digital breakouts are timed (mine aren't!) but the game facilitator can add a timer if desired (usually physical ones are for 30-45 minutes)
Clues will be hidden on the site or location of the breakout - there is no need to search outside of the breakout (in fact you probably will get the wrong answer!)
Digital breakouts may not give an answer key - everyone is able to play!
What types of clues could you find?
Links to different pages on this site
Google Drive items (viewable or forced copies - pay attention to the what it asks you to do!)
Written clues (look for things that may seem "different" - example: write down bolded letters to get a clue)
"Fake" clues can happen - but not usually (basically, if you find something you will need it to solve the locks!)
Note: You may need to be signed into your school account to be able to see or use the Form/clues.
