CHROMEBOOK FAQ
Question #1:
IT receives calls about students having trouble login to their Chromebooks.
Answer:
The source of the problem is usually with Google Servers. Another possibility is that too many students are logging in all at once.
The solution is to have a few students login at a time to reduce server or router overload.
Question #2:
Some teachers are reporting Chromebook keyboards are typing incorrect letters.
Answer #1:
Often times it was a student trying to change the language setting on their Chromebook. The solution is to toggle language setting back to "US".
Solution #1:
HP Chromebooks: Pressing CTRL + SHFT + Spacebar until the correct language appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
DELL Chromebooks: Press SEARCH (the icon that looks like a Magnified Glass) + SHIFT and tap "T"
Solution #2:
If that doesn't work, change the keyboard setting manually in the Chromebook's settings or perform a full Powerwash (factory reset) by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Shift + R after signing out.
CHROMEBOOK ISSUES
If your student is having issues with their Chromebook or it has been damaged, have the Chromebook exchanged at the library. Send your student with the Chromebook to the library during library hours. All other non-Chromebook related issue you can send a Help Desk Ticket to Bill King.
