Bonjour! I have been speaking French since the age of 5 and I have taught French both at the public high school and university level since 1999. I have my Bachelor of Arts in French and a Master of Arts in French Literature with a focus on Francophone literature of the Maghreb, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Antilles and a minor focus on both 17th and 18th century French literature. I have taught all levels of French from 1 to AP French Language and AP French Literature. I studied in Paris, France for part of my undergraduate program at California State University, Long Beach.
I have traveled with students to France on numerous occasions for home stay programs and did so again in Spring of 2026 ! Students experienced everything Paris had to offer in addition to staying with host families near the city of Saint Lo in Normandy.
I am married and have two amazing children who are also students in Walnut Valley schools. I love to read, travel, cook, hike, and exercise. As a family we love to travel and have been fortunate to travel to France (2019, 2025), Belize (2021) and Costa Rica (2023, 2024, 2025) and Scottsdale & Sedona (2025). I've also been taking Spanish classes for personal enjoyment. I studied German at university and even taught it for one year. I have even started Italian just for fun.
Interested in traveling to France in spring 2026? You must be in French 2 or higher the year of travel. More information to come this school year. **Note that this trip is not a school or district sponsored field trip. **
