Chase Paulson, Certified Athletic Trainer

Chase Paulson achieved his Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from California Baptist University, in Riverside, CA in 2009. In 2011 Chase completed his Master's Degree in Athletic Training, also at California Baptist University. Chase received his certification from the Board of Certification, Inc. in June of 2011. Chase is beginning his eighth year at Diamond Bar where he not only serves as the school's certified athletic trainer, but also as the Health Science Pathway instructor and Advisor for the DBHS HOSA - Future Health Professionals chapter. Chase is a CPR/first-aid instructor certified through EMS Safety Services. Chase has been certified as a Weigh Assessor for the CIF Southern Section since 2011.

Yvonne Manly has held the athletic department together during her tenure at Diamond Bar High School that began in its early beginnings. She is an extremely passionate and dedicated Brahma that bleeds Purple, Gold, and White. We are tremendously honored to have her as part of our team.

Becky Bevans, Head Volleyball Coach

Coach Becky Bevans is once again our Head Volleyball Coach. Coach Bevans is the winningest volleyball coach in school history with over 174 victories! Becky also teaches PE, Health, & World History for our school. Her program instills hard work into our athletes and she emphasizes the importance of a team. Her coaching staff includes Brahma alumni who love working alongside their former coach.

Andre Bonafe, Head Wrestling Coach

Coach Andre Bonafe is a DBHS graduate and successful wrestler at the school. Coach Bonafe is a graduate of Cal state Fullerton with a degree in Kinesiology with a focus on sports studies. He has been a wrestling assistant coach for 6 years before taking over as the head coach, and is currently heading into his third year. In addition to coaching, coach Bonafe owns a fitness gym where he provides personal training. Coach Bonafe strives to teach his student-athletes that success is achieved through hard work and dedication.

Jason Tuck, Head Boys Golf Coach

Coach Jason Tuck is entering his 13th year coaching boy’s golf at Diamond Bar High School and his first year as head coach. Coach Tuck attended San Jose State University and enjoyed a 37 year career at Hughes Aircraft and Raytheon as a Senior Finance Manager. Jason has over 50 years of experience playing competitive golf and currently maintains a GHIN Index of 5.0. During his tenure on the boy’s golf coaching staff, the Brahma boys team has won more than ten league titles, numerous CIFSS Championships and made several strong runs at State Championships. He lives in Diamond Bar with his wife Emily.


Malinalli Cooke, Head X-Country & Track Coach

Coach Malinalli Cooke was a high school stand out as a team MVP and captain. She finished top 10 individually in state and 5th in the 1600 meter. Coach Cooke attended Loyola Marymount University on a scholarship and served as her team’s captain and earned MVP honors where she placed third in both conference and regionals. In addition, she is our head cross country coach, teaches chemistry, and is an advisor to a handful of clubs on our campus.


Kurt Davies, Head Softball Coach

Coach Kurt Davies is an Army veteran and started his coaching career in baseball and has a wealth of experience. He has coached football for the Brahmas in the past and was nominated as a NFL high school coach of the year. He is the school’s Athletic Director and serves as a mentor to many. We were honored to have coach Davies take over the softball program and he has already made a tremendous impact in its success, earning a CIF playoff berth in his second year. Aside from coaching, coach Davies serves as a world history teacher on campus and part of leading the school's Pathways Academy.

Alexis Feix, Head Girls Tennis Coach

Coach Alexis Feix has just completed her 6th year as the Brahmas head girls tennis coach and is the school's Athletic Director. During her tenure as coach, her team has earned both league individual and team champion honors and has advanced to CIF post season competition each year. Coach Feix is also an English teacher at Diamond Bar high school teaching AP Literature and is the freshman class of 2025 advisor.


Matt Franco, Head Girls Soccer Coach

Coach Matt Franco is entering his 6th season at Diamond Bar High School as the head coach. Coach Franco earned his Business Administration degree from Cal Poly Pomona while playing on the collegiate men's soccer team as a student-athlete. Additionally, he played with the Southern California Seahorses in the So Cal premier league and competed in the US Open Cup. Prior to his arrival, he coached at Los Altos for 9 seasons where he earned 5 league titles and made 2 CIF semi final appearances. Coach Franco is the current director of coaching at CDA Slammers and works full time at Wilson high school and is excited to enter this season as the defending Mt Baldy League champions and a CIF semi-finalist.

Henry Frierson, Head Boys Basketball Coach

Coach Henry Frierson is entering his seventh year as our Brahmas Head Coach and his twelfth year as part of the coaching staff at DBHS. Coach Frierson is a graduate of DBHS and was a successful point guard (Daily Bulletin All Star) under longtime Brahma Hall of Fame Coach Bill Murray. Coach Frierson is also a graduate of USC and a successful business owner. Coach lives with his fiancée, Aimee, three daughters, and son. He led the Brahmas in a successful season few years which included a Palomares and Mt Baldy League titles and CIF playoff appearances. We are excited about the promise and future of the team due to his dedication and devotion.


Roberta Garcia, Head Girls Golf Coach

Coach Garcia-Uyemura has coached many sports here at Diamond Bar high school. She has been the Head coach for Softball, Girls’ Tennis, Frosh-Soph volleyball. This was her first season as Head coach of the Girls’ golf program where the team took 2nd place in the Hacienda league. The team took 2nd place at the Sandals tournament and Walnut Tournament. The Brahmas took top 10 finishes at the CIF Southern section D-1 championships and the CIF-SCGA team qualifying tournament. The Brahmas finished ninth at the divisional finals. Coach Garcia-Uyemura was named Coach of the Year by the Press-enterprise. Coach Garcia-Uyemura played softball for Fresno State, played in the College World Series & won two conference championships.

Melanie Gonzalez, Head Girls Water Polo & Swim & Dive Coach

Coach Gonzalez is in her first year at DBHS as a math teacher and head coach for girls water polo and boys and girls swim & dive. Melanie coached at West Covina HS as a JV Water polo and swim coach before she became a Brahma. Melanie looks forward to anchoring our aquatics programs with her leadership and vision.

David Lopez, Head Baseball Coach

Coach David Lopez is entering his first season at the helm of the Brahma Baseball program and his ninth season as part of the baseball coaching staff. Coach Lopez is a graduate of DBHS and was a two-sport letterman (Baseball and Wrestling). Coach Lopez’s coaching career began at La Puente High School in 2008 as a Varsity baseball assistant coach. Since then he has coached baseball, basketball, and football, spanning from 7th to 12th grade student-athletes. Coach Lopez served as the head Freshman football coach for the DBHS Football program for four seasons, winning a Hacienda League title in his last season.


Kylance Malveaux, Head Girls Basketball Coach

Coach Malveaux has been a coach on campus for over fourteen years. He has been teaching for over twenty five years, twenty of those have been at Diamond Bar High School. He has also taught a variety of science courses on campus including biology, chemistry and AP Environmental Science. He has assisted in our boys basketball and girls golf programs before he took the reigns of our girls basketball team. His first year coaching he took the team to the second round of CIF.

Pete Orosco, Head Boys Soccer Coach

Coach Pete Orosco starts his second season as Head Coach for the Brahmas. Pete has been coaching soccer in Southern California for the last 20 years both at the Club level as well as the college level. Pete has coached at Mt. San Antonio College as well as Cal State Dominguez Hills. Pete's philosophy in coaching is working to get the best out of his athlete's by connecting the game to academics, discipline, leading by example, and earning the respect of fellow athlete's. Pete is excited to be a part of the soccer program and looks forward to helping carry the Brahma's soccer tradition by incorporating his college and club experience into the program.

Matt Castaneda, Head Football Coach

Coach Matt Castaneda begins his first year as a Brahma football coach and will be a teacher on campus in the fall. Previously, Coach Castaneda was the head football coach at Rosemead High School for four years and served as a middle school science teacher. Matt's coaching philosophy is centered in anchoring student-athletes as students first and helping athletes reach their fullest potential.

Kemp Wells, Head Badminton Coach

Coach Kemp Wells currently serves as our head badminton coach. Coach Wells has 25 years of experience coaching badminton, with the last 18 years being at Diamond Bar. His teams have remained undefeated since 2011, having won the past seven championships. Coach Wells is an English teacher on campus.

Troy Wong, Head Boys Tennis Coach

Coach Troy Wong and his wife have been living and working in Diamond Bar since 1994 and his four children have graduated from DBHS. This will be his sixth year coaching tennis at Diamond Bar, 3 years serving as an assistant and this is his second year as the head coach. Coach Wong was a four-year varsity tennis player himself and competed in the highly regarded Ohio tournament as an athlete. To this day, coach Wong still competes in tennis, his teams have been to sectionals multiple times, and once to the national championships. Coach Wong is a life long student of the game and he enjoys sharing his learned and lived experience of tennis and life with his student-athletes. We are blessed to have coach Wong.
