Each topic focuses on practical strategies and tools that teachers can immediately apply in the classroom to create engaging, inclusive, and student-centered experiences.
Topic 1: Designing Interactive and Collaborative Lesson Plans that Align with Learning Objectives
Duration: 2 weeks
This topic focuses on planning lessons that encourage student participation and engagement through interactivity and collaboration. Participants will explore how to identify clear, measurable learning objectives and align them with student-centered teaching strategies. The module will introduce instructional design principles and explore tools for structuring activities that promote active learning, such as think-pair-share, peer teaching, and group inquiry. Educators will learn how to integrate collaborative technologies and scaffold lessons to support learners of all levels. Sample lesson templates and planning guides will be provided.
Topic 2: Creating Inclusive Group Activities that Promote Accountability and Mutual Respect
Duration: 2 weeks
This topic guides educators in designing and managing group activities that are fair, respectful, and inclusive of all students. Emphasis will be placed on creating a supportive group dynamic where every member feels valued and responsible. Strategies for grouping students equitably, assigning roles, and setting group norms will be discussed. Participants will also explore culturally responsive practices, conflict resolution strategies, and the importance of setting clear expectations to maintain mutual respect and shared accountability. Practical examples and activity blueprints will be included.
Topic 4: Assessing Collaborative Work Fairly and Effectively Using Rubrics, Reflections, and Peer Evaluations
Duration: 2 weeks
This topic introduces assessment practices that capture both individual and group contributions in collaborative work. Educators will learn how to develop and apply rubrics that reflect collaborative goals, encourage student reflection through guided prompts, and incorporate peer and self-evaluation as tools for formative and summative assessment.
